This Blog is own by one of Accounting student in Politeknik Kuching Sarawak. Its created for study purpose only. We were inform to create a blog for our computer application's lab work. In this blog, i have include some of the information of Sarawak cuisine. For Sarawak food lover, this will help you to find a great place to eat! Have a blast day! 
Sarawak is one of the state in Borneo Island. Its also known as 'Bumi Kenyalang' (Land of Hornbil). Sarawak also famous with many types of food and its taste great! There are Sarawak Layered Cake, Sarawak Laksa, Mee Kolok, Mee Kuching, Manok Pansuh, Tebaloi, Umai and many more. 

In Sarawak, most of the people prefer to have at least one types of Layered cake in house during the festive seasons. Next is Sarawak Laksa. This cuisine is one of famous food in Sarawak. According to wikipedia, Sarawak laksa (Malay: Laksa Sarawak) comes from the town of Kuching. It is actually very different from the curry laksa as the soup contains no curry at all. It has a base of Sambal belacan, sour tamarind, garlic, galangal, lemon grass and coconut milk, topped with omelette strips, chicken strips, prawns, fresh coriander and optionally lime. Ingredients such as bean sprouts, (sliced) fried tofu or other seafood are not traditional but are sometimes added.This is one of Sarawak Laksa shop Aunty Christina's Sarawak Laksa .

Mee Kolok originally not from Sarawak. Its was been popular by immigrate from China. Nowadays, this cuisine become so famous among people in Sarawak.

Next is Mee Kuching. Mee kuching is also known as Mee Dawai. Because this cuisine is really dry and looks like wires. Its can be found in many shopping complex in Kuching Sarawak.                                   Mee Dawai


Manuk Pansuh is a traditional Iban cuisine. Chicken is briefly cooked in a bamboo until tender and complimented with lemongrass, ginger and tapioca leaves. Another similar to Manok Pansoh but with added rice, is a traditional Bidayuh cuisine named Assam Siok. It can be hardly found in any restaurants in Sarawak as it is normally home cooked.

Tebaloi is one of Sarawak famous food. The food that is synonymous with the Melanau of Sarawak. Tebaloi is some sort of a cracker made from sago powder (in shredded form). Last but not least is Umai. Umai is a traditional native dish of Melanau people especially for the fisherman in sarawak.
